Background
Around 1122, the Viking Gimli was wandering around the North Sea just off Normandy when he overcome by a strong storm.  The ship was blown to the South, but backwards.  After twelve day of this storm, his navigator was thoroughly confused.  He believed he was blown North, so he had Gimli turn the ship around and head the other way.  This actually took him further South.  After a bit of wandering, they found themselves in Morocco. They headed West (which was actually East) and into teh Medieranean. Still hopelessly lost and eventually ended up near Cairo.

Not wanting to turn back across the Mediterranean, they headed up the Nile River.  They traveled for 4 days.  With nothing in sight except sand, Gimli stopped the boat on shore and sent out two groups.  One to the East, the other to the West.  Each group was told to travel for no more than 5 days then return.  After 6 days, the group that traveled West returned to report a large body of water.  Gimli waited for the group from the East and they never returned.  It is rumored that they pillaged Libya for 4 years before they were captured and sent to Pakistan.

Gimli decide to have the remainder of his crew move the ship across the desert to this large body of water. They disassembled the ship and carried it across the desert. It took 3 and a half years to accomplish this. He decided named the Red Sea after his Grandfather, Eric the Red
They continued South until they cleared the Red Sea then decided to return to an Easterly direction.  When they reached land, they called this place India, after the natives that his father Erik found when they reached North American a many years before.

While on shore, the natives explained they were headed East not West, and South not North.  After chopping off the head of his navigator, Gimli headed North. He landed in several locations along his travels up the Arabian Gulf.  Once he reached Kuwait, he realized he would never make it home again.  Remembering the taste of the sweet water of Bahrain, he decided to settle there.  It was now 1123. and Bahrain was under Persian rule.  He settled on a beach near this location.  After 2 years of surviving this area, he realized they would not last long without help.  He started raiding the nearby villages in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and beyond.  The Persians decided that this was unacceptable and slaughtered most all of th colony.  The small number of prisoners were son absorbed into the community.

0In 2002, one of these descendants secretly erected a statue of Gimli at this location. This was discovered by Ministry of We Have No European Ancestory and the statue was removed.  The entire area was blocked and covered, except the stones that his foot was on. All evidence of the previous settlement was buried. It's existance is evident by comparing the block stone in this picture to the block stone you will from the cache location.
