Geocache Description:

This cache is a decon container hidden just off a nature trail through Whitehall Park. Under previous conditions of the trails, this would be no more than a 1.5/2 cache. Because of the current trail conditions (fairly heavy overgrowth in some places, a nearby downed tree, and weak signal strength on many devices), I've bumped up the terrain and difficulty slightly.

When geocaching came to Waco and the first dozen or so geocachers in the area started geocaching, one of the most prolific cachers and hiders hid a cache very near this spot next to a little wooden bridge.  That cache was InnerView and was hidden almost 10 years ago in the summer of 2003 by the infamous TheGeoGoes.  It was their first geocache hide, one of Waco's first few geocaches, and my second geocache find on my very first day geocaching in March 2005!

Unfortunately, that cache has gone missing, the hiding spot is mostly collapsed, and the once beautiful trail system through this park is now overgrown and appears to be largely abandoned by the City of Woodway.  Even more depressing is that TheGeoGoes also seem to have all but vanished from the geocaching scene in the last few years.  Both the geocache and TheGeoGoes are now... geo-gone.

In honor of InnerView and my friends, TheGeoGoes, I have hidden this decon container just a short distance away from that historic cache.  There is room for small trackables, coins, pathtags, or other small trade items. Bring your own pen.

NOTE: If you are not familiar with decon containers, they are incredibly water-proof when sealed properly. However, getting a good seal is sometimes difficult. Even though I always use waterproof paper for my logs, please help this cache stay dry by making sure all four corners snap into place and that the cloth strap is not accidently caught in the seal after you find the cache.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:  If you want to find the original hiding spot of InnerView, continue down the trail towards the little creek to the old wooden foot bridge, get off the path and walk down towards the creek next to the bridge until you find a short, rocky step down. InnerView, one of Waco's first geocaches, was hidden in a small cave under those stones.
