M&M-257 Pithlachascotee Squish Squash Traditional Cache
M&M Melted: No reason to re-locate, preserve is too small and the location was part of the cache's appeal. Never had a problem before placing caches in similar locations, in Pasco County or otherwise. Never had anyone ask for approval in Pasco county either.

"SQUISH SQUASH!" That's the sound your feet will make as you make your way off-trail to Ground Zero. The cache is located in a pretty, swampy section of the Upper Pithlachascotee River Preserve. You are searching for a rubbermaid container with a red lid. BYOP
Acquired by Pasco County in 2007, this 129-acre Preserve is dominated by 69 acres of bottomland forest associated with the Pithlachascotee River and a small tributary - Ryals Branch - that crosses the site. The other natural communities are sandhill, upland mixed forest, and freshwater marshes. Protected wildlife species documented or likely to occur include the gopher tortoise, Florida mouse, gopher frog, little blue heron and snowy egret. A great place for a stroll, both on and off-trail.
Have fun, be safe and watch those knees!
