This event is being held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Promised Land State Park, located on Route 390 in Pike County, Pennsylvania (just south of I-84). Come join us to celebrate her success as a high school graduate and to wish her good luck on her future adventures in life.
The event begins at 12:00 Noon and will last all afternoon. You're welcome to stay and enjoy the pavillion and the facilities until sunset. There is plenty of parking and we have reserved the large pavillion for this event. We will be having a pot-luck picnic, so please bring a food item to share with your fellow geocachers.
Stellar Jr started geocaching when she was nine years old, back in 2004. Since then, she has logged almost 6000 finds in 44 states. Now, at the age of 18, she just graduated high school on June 11th, and in a little over 2 months, she will soon be starting a new adventure in life as a college student away from home. Come join us to celebrate her current accomplishments and her future endeavors. She will continue to search out geocaches and expand her area of geo-finds in a new area away from home.
Promised Land State Park is one of Stellar Jr's favorite areas. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby, as well as swimming and boating in the nearby lake. We have reserved the large pavillion at the park. There are lots of nearby activities, including a beach with swimming about 300 feet from the pavillion. There are two charcoal grills in the pavillion, and electricity is also available. Restrooms are also available nearby. The pavillion has a huge fireplace, so we will be roasting marshmallows later in the day.
