Geocache Description:

A series of caches based on locations used in the Peter Diamond Mystery detective books by Peter Lovesey. Peter Diamond is a fictional larger than life policeman based in Manvers Street Police Station, Bath, solving crimes in and around the county in his own inimitable style. The locations that Peter Lovesey uses are virtually all real and the caches are placed as close as possible to those described in his books. Hopefully the series will grow over time.

The cache is located near to Beckford’s footpath from his home in Lansdown Crescent to the Tower. The footpath is just below the Victorian Cemetery where a crime occurred in 'Skeleton Hill', and where a poor policeman had to stand in the dark on the hillside all night!

Also in the cache is a letter and number. The letter forms part of a 6 letter name – an ‘acquaintance’ of Peter Diamond. Once the anagram has been solved, use the associated number to complete the coordinates of a bonus cache – The Diamond Bonus 1.

N 51 22. 1st 2nd 3rd   W 2 21. 4th 5th 6th

The rest of the letters are located in other Diamond Series caches.

Thanks to Peter Lovesey for allowing me to refer to his books and characters as the basis for these caches.
