Geocache Description:

This is the second in a series of caches dedicated to Firefly fans.  Contents refer to the episode represented (in this case, episode 2, "The Train Job").

Small container with room for very small swag. As of 6/6/19, seeded with a few pathtags from the Firefly series.

Each cache in the Browncoats series has a "higgledy piggledy" about the episode on the first page of the logbook.  This may contain spoilers, so if you haven't seen the show and want to, skip the poem!  Please do not take Firefly-related items unless you can replace them with other items which refer to this episode.  That will be the fun for geocachers--figuring out something clever to leave.  There are some items labeled for use by anyone.

Important Note:  This cache is located inside Bear Creek Lake State Park, and visitors who are not staying overnight must pay the day use parking fee ($5 weekdays and weekends as of June 2019).  Please report to the main entrance and pay this fee before you head to the coordinates to look for the cache.  Park by the park office and walk around the end of the lake to pick up the walking trail, or park at the posted coordinates and walk back toward the park office, passing Browncoats 3 on the way! Do not park in front of any of the cabins, unless you are a guest at the cabin and have paid the appropriate fees.

You can take a nice hike around the lake and find several different caches, including one other in the Browncoats series. Remember that your GPS gives you distances as the crow flies, though, not as the path wends. Get a trail map from the park office before you set out. You can hike the perimeter of the lake, but you will travel part of several different trails in order to do that, rather than hiking around on one trail. Near as I could tell, it was roughly 3.5 miles all the way around (we walked nearly 4.5, but we got off the right trails a few times!).

The new logbook is too small for the higgledy piggledy, so here it is:

Higgledy piggledy
Time for a train heist
with Malcom and Zoë and Jayne on the track;
Überdepressingly:
Swag was all medicine;
Malcolm and Zoë
then Gave it all back.

There is poison ivy in the area of the cache, but most of the plants are NOT PI. If you are alert, you should have no trouble making the grab without having to move or come into contact with PI.
