Geocache Description:

A pleasant exploration of the woods surrounding Shepley War Memorial.

Shepley War Memorial is unusual in that it is not located in the village centre but instead on a slight rise overlooking the village school and playing fields.  Many people who have lived in the village for years are unaware of it's existence.  Shepley Village Association have recently spend a great deal of time clearing the undergrowth and opening up the area around the War Memorial to make it more accessible.  It is a tranquil area of the village to spend a few minutes reflecting on those who gave up their lives so that we may remain a free country

The geocache is a traditional cache located in the area of woodland just beyond the War Memorial.  Please treat the area with the respect it deserves and take a moment to think of the significance of the site.
