After a bit of a hike from the Aspen Grove trailhead and Curt Gowdy state park (entrance fee required), you will hike a very lovely trail for 20-30 minutes. Take time to stop and take some pictures. It is especially nice on a warm summer day or a calm (rare) winter day with snow.
Once close, watch out for cactus. Not a problem if you just stay clear. It is a bit of an uphike to get to and needs a bit of a simple rock scramble. From here you can see a very cool looking rock formation that many think SHOULD be the "Stone Temple" formation but the real Stone Temple is about a quarter mile further on the trail. This rock view is one of the coolest in the area.
