This cache is situated at the branch of a steep tarmac footpath on the Startforth side of the river Tees directly up from a steel framed pedestrian bridge. Take a moment and enjoy the view of the Tees and Barnard Castle.
This is a small container with a log, pencil and sharpener. Please replace so it can not be unintentionally seen by muggles walking up the hill. This can be used as a drive by but please don't take your car along the Lendings narrow lane. You could either park on the small road to Startforth Church or a small tarmac parking area off the main road if you are on the south side of the river and access on foot along the Lendings or from the river side footpath. If approaching from the Barnard Castle side, there is plenty of parking at the bottom of the bank in the Thorngate area. You can then walk past the old mill, now residential properties and over the green walking bridge to the Startforth side. Bring some bread and feed the ducks at the rivers edge as they are always appreciative.
