Geocache Description:

Small Magnetic eclipse container .  The Vanilla Slice is held annually in August in the Main street. Can be high Muggle area

The Vanilla Slice was held for the 1st time in Merbein in August 2012 after 14 years at Ouyen in the Mallee.Organisers said about 11,000 people attended the Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph . The event /street party showcases Sunraysia's dried fruit history, a new baking section was added for plum puddings, sunmuscat slice and sultana muffins also consisted of stalls, rides.
The vanilla slice competition involves about 200 entries from bakeries around the state. The categories include professional, innovative, school and amateur.  The event was born when former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett declared that the Mallee Bakery vanilla slice was the best he had ever tasted.
Our Eldest Geoson was the winner of the Amateur student section .
