Geocache Description:

As part of the defenses of Narragansett Bay during WW II, there were many forts arrayed along the south coast of RI, protecting the entrances to the Bay. Many of these locations already have caches - see "Defenses of the Bay" series

This stand alone gun point represents the location of a 155mm gun of a type that was originally developed for use in Panama in WW I, but continued use into WW II.
