The Hockhocking Adena Bikeway is a 19 mile trail along the Hocking River in Athens County. The cache is located near a parking spot and entrance onto the "spur" of the bike path.
It's time for a new theme on the HAB! Welcome the Addams Family to the Hockhocking Athena Bikeway!
The Addams Family began as a series of cartoons in the New Yorker in 1938. The first TV series aired from 1964-1966, and many other series, animated shows, movies, and a Broadway musical followed. I grew up watching the show, and I'm sure many others did the same- regardless of our ages. The Addams Family features a closeknit family full of macabre interests who live in a creepy and gloomy mansion. Morticia, the matriarch, and Gomez the patriarch of the family, have children Wednesday and Pugsley. Uncle Fester, Grandmama, Thing, the butler Lurch, and Cousin Itt all reside with the family as well.
This cache is also part of the SLA series in honor of my caching buddy, Suzilovesadam. Not only does Suziloveadam, she also loves Addams (family). She's a great friend to cache with, and anyone who has cached with her will surely agree. This series started when she was about to move away from the area, but she has come back to visit so often that I'm sure the series will continue on for a quite a while!
The caches in this series are meant to be easy grabs for those enjoying the bike path. Most will be right off the bike path and along the tree line. Please look both ways before retrieving/replacing the cache, the path is very busy. Have fun and I hope this series brings back a few memories.
