Geocache Description:

This should be a simple field puzzle that will require a couple stops in a country cemetery. The final cache is not at the listed coordinates. Those are only the starting point. Visiting graves at the two locations in the cemetery as described below will reveal the final coordinates, assuming you are good at following directions. 

Step 1:
  1. Go to N39 16.988  W083 36.174
  2. The tombstone will tell you which coordinates you are going to adjust. If not, you aren't in the right place.
  3. Stand squarely in front of this navigational tombstone and look toward it into the cemetery. If you are looking the correct direction, you should see twin sentinals a ways ahead of you.
  4. Scan the graves ahead of you at approximately 12:00 and 1:30. You are looking for two stones with specific surnames. The first syllables of these two names are farm products that are related to one another. If you know me at all, you will know why these particular markers caught my attention. 
  5. Count the total number of letters in those two last names.
  6. Write down that number.
  7. Count the total number of letters in the surname on your navigational aid tombstone and write them directly after that number.
  8. Use this new number to decrease the final digits of the given coordinates - your choice of the north or west value.
Step 2:
  1. Go to N39 16.973  W 83 36.217
  2. You should be at a small family plot that will suggest which coordinates you are going to adjust. If not, you aren't in the right place. 
  3. Stand squarely in front of the most unique of the three family stones, facing toward it. You should be facing the same navigational direction as before, but no twins this time. 
  4. Scan the graves ahead of you at approximately 11:00 and 10:30. You are looking for two stones with specific surnames. The first syllables of these two names are opposites which describe where you have looked for caches.
  5. Count the total number of letters in those two last names.
  6. Write down that number
  7. Count the total number of letters in the surname on your navigational aid tombstone and write them directly after that number. Double the resulting number.
  8. Use this new number to increase the final digits of the given coordinates - your choice of the north or west value.
Step 3:
  1. Go find the cache.
  2. Sign the log.
  3. Replace as found.
  4. Smile! You are done questing for spirits!
