The history…
Many moons ago, long before the council came along and threw up these houses, Cobham drive was once Weymouth Airfield. (Cobham Drive itself apparently takes its name from a flying circus which frequented the area long ago.) When WWII started and all hell broke loose, the airfield became RAF Chickerell, and it stayed that way until the end of the war, when the whole idea of landing planes on it was suddenly scrapped in favour of building a housing estate. So now you know. The only real physical evidence left of RAF Chickerell today is (what is left of) its entrance, which is mistaken for a lay-by all the time now. If you visit the coordinates below you can see it in person and go and stand on a piece of real Weymouth history. In fact, why not park your car in it before grabbing the cache?
And now the spooky bit…
I am getting much of this information from a local ‘ghost’ book my beloved bought me on a whim a while back. While it makes for a hokey read, it also tells the 100% factual account of several hauntings that have been associated with the Cobham Drive residents. The apparition of an airman clad in full RAF uniform stalks the area in constant search for something… and when confronted, he simply vanishes into thin air. Yikes! Now you can join him in wandering around Cobham Drive searching for something. So please be careful retrieving the cache and be sure to take your proton-pack. Free roadside parking available all around.
As stated, you are after a nano, but it shouldn’t be too hard to locate as it’s in the most obvious place it could be (clue: it‘s NOT the postbox or in any trees!) Had to be a nano really due to the amount of muggle activity in the area… even worse than the paranormal activity! Stealth will indeed be required to grab this one... hence why I've been generous with clues. Oh, and it’s black.
Good luck with this one and don’t go getting possessed or anything.
