This cache has been archived.

Marko Ramius: Greetings! This event cache has recently come to my attention as needing to be archived. Please note that after an event has passed, the event cache should be archived by the organizer within four weeks. Don’t worry, the cache page will still be accessible and logable by either searching other cacher’s logs, by searching the cache owner’s hidden cache list, or by searching using the GCxxxx code.

Thank you for your understanding and for your contributions to Geocaching.

Geocache Description:

The San Diego River Park Foundation is hosting the 10th annual San Diego River Days, and we wanted to make geocaching a part of it! We will be hiding caches all around Old Man's Pond. This is a chance for geocachers to make a difference by helping us clean up the area, AND for our regular volunteers to learn about Geocaching! To RSVP and to see a complete list of our 42 FREE events taking place in May, visit www.sdriverdays.org.

Use your GPS to hunt for treasure and find trash! Come explore Old Man's Pond in Santee, a significant and beautiful aspect of the San Diego River. The San Diego River Park Foundation has hidden caches and located the coordinates of various trash sites around Old Man's pond. We will meet at Old Man's pond, break up into teams, and go hunting! The event will run from 9am-12noon. Wear long pants because we will be doing some bushwhacking! This will be a great opportunity to introduce new geocachers to the hobby and to make a difference in our community. This activity will be a highlighted event as part of the 10th Annual San Diego River Days, which includes over 40 fun, free, outdoor activities.
