Geocache Description:

Take a short hike and enjoy the water's edge on this adventure.  We recommend coming around sunset and searching in the fading day's glow.  Don't miss this view!

This is also a great place to swim and fish!

The pavement going into the water's edge is not an old boat launch, but the old highway that went across the valley before the lake was built.  About 100 feet from the shoreline there is a large bridge underwater where the road crossed over the river.  It sits about 40 feet under water, so you probably won't see it.

If you take a tour with the park or go to one of their historic interpretive programs you will get to see pictures of the location before there was a lake.

There is parking nearby, but due to the area's popularity, you might have to park up the road by the bathhouse. Because of the many campers in the area, please respect their campsites spaces. Bring your own pencil.
