Every winter on 1 morning in July at dawn, you will find people spread across the forest undertaking a lyrebird survey.
This involves taking a compass bearing from a designated spot like this of the spot where the male lyrebirds makes its first call at dawn.
This caches is just down the track from the new Mason Falls picnic area. Redesigned and rebuilt after the fire, eventhough a lot of the picnic facilities survived.
Access gate closed at night to vehicles.
