CONGRATULATIONS TO nova66 & Tater220 for FTF! WOW!!! Only took 45 minutes after cache was listed!!!.......... This is my first hidden Cache, there seems to be a lack of Caches in this area. The Cache contains a log sheet, pencil, some small trade items, and my first Travel Bug to move on and for me to track. Many people drive by here every day not even knowing this cemetery is even here. Union cemetery was originally known as Spaulding Corner Cemetery named for the family that buried their dead there in the mid-1800's. You will see many prominent names of early Lake County settlers here. It is now owned by the City of Waukegan, IL. The Cache is hidden in an area before the cemetery starts as you drive in. You can drive into the cemetery off Grand Ave. the adjacent parking lot used to be empty, but now there is a used car lot operating in that area so stealth may be required at certain times. There are 651 interments listed in this cemetery, please use dignity if you wish to explore and pay your respects to the deceased buried here. The Am Echod Jewish Cemetery is adjacent, just to the east of the Union Cemetery.
