Geocache Description:

A fun cache in Greytown

A Matryoshka doll, also known as a Russian nesting doll refers to a set of wooded dolls of decreasing size placed one inside of the other. They are sometimes incorrectly referred to as "babushka dolls". The first Russian nesting doll set was carved in 1890 by Vasily Zvyozdochkin from a design by Sergey Malyutin who was a folk crafts painter. The traditional outer layer is a woman, dressed in a  sarafan, a long and shapeless traditional Russian peasant jumper dress. The figures may be of either gender; the smallest innermost doll is typically a baby turned from a single piece of wood. ( The one in the cache contains a log book). Much artistry is in the painting of each doll, which can be very el. The dolls often follow a theme, aside from the traditional peasant girls, the themes vary and can include fairy tale characters to soviet leaders.

Park carefully and use stealth. Have fun disassembling the cache and ensure it is all put together again properly after you sign the log.
