Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Bridge to Nowhere!

This abandoned bridge has become overgrown with branches, trees and bushes.  Historical maps from the early 1900's show that there used to be houses and farms in this area, and you can still see the foundation of an old building north of the bridge.

After this cache was published, dhcmca sent some additional information on the bridge:

"I believe that this bridge is the remnants of a branch of the Erie and Ontario Railway that ran between Chippawa and Niagara on the Lake. It was eventually acquired by the larger railroads of the day and records I found indicate that the last train across this bridge would have been around 1959 when the New York Central decommissioned the line.

Finding the cache
Walk under the train bridge to get to the Bridge to Nowhere from the parking area.  Traverse the abandoned concrete casings on the pathway.  When you are on the Bridge to Nowhere, stay on the west side of the fence line, as the property beyond the fence is the hydro canal property.

Stay safe, and happy caching!

Congratulations to NFJK and DirkMagirk for the shared FTF!
