Simply an easily accesible cache and dash in Lyneham, It's for everyone and most suited to those who are unsteady off of footpaths. Congratulations to Geo-G5 on the First To Find!
If you look south south-east in good weather from the junction nearest this cache, you can see the Lansdowne Monument (also known as Cherhill Monument) on the far hill. This is about 7KM away! Sadly you cannot see the White Horse that is near it due to the angle of view.
It was designed by Sir Charles Barry (who also helped rebuild the Houses of Parlaiment) and built by the Third Marquis of Lansdowne to commemorate an ancestor of his, Sir William Petty - the person who is considered the origininator of "laissez-faire" economics in relation to government activity.
