Geocache Description:

This is a small camouflaged cache, one of a series of caches around Buntingford, Puckeridge and Standon. The Buntingford caches will eventually make a circular walk. Buntingford is the smallest town in Hertfordshire and dates back to 1185. The original settlement was in the parish of Layston near the church of St Bartholomew which was built in the 13th century. The church is known locally as Layston Church and is currently being converted into a dwelling. Over the centuries the settlement of Buntingford moved down the valley to its present location. There is a pay and display carpark in Bowling Green Lane, Buntingford and parking in the streets of Buntingford and for this cache also in the High Street, in Hare Street. The footpaths around Buntingford do tend to get muddy after rain so come prepared with wellingtons or walking boots.
