You'll encounter uphills, downhills, creek crossings and bushwhacking. There are a lot of deer trails to help get you through the brush. The final location is pretty obvious from the hint, so if you can get to GZ, you should get your smiley. Please cover the cache as you found it.
The winter Attribute is only for snow cover.
UPDATE: Did a maintenance check on 10-19-21 and everything is good with the cache. After 8 years - other things have changed. I placed this to be a long, quarter mile bushwhack. You can now follow the SAMBA bike trail and only bushwhack a short 150 feet! Due to the 8 year vegetation growth and the groomed trail to GZ, I would say the D/T is now 2/3. I won’t change the D/T rating as it may affect the fizzy grid of previous finders. Thanks to all who found this cache and kept the ammo box literally filled to the top with swag.
History:
I archived the Circle Island cache in January, due to the fact that it was washed away during the flood in the fall of 2011, even though it was chained to a tree on the small island. On March 23, 2013, I was contacted by 'jandjcomputerrep' who informed me that he had found an ammo can and thought it might be mine. (He had joined geocaching.com just to track me down). We got together and he had in fact found the Circle Island cache. He told me he had found the ammo box at the Ned Smith Center, washed up on the bank of the Wiconisco. I mapped the distance and it turned out that the cache had floated 27.5 miles. He said it was dry on the inside and although it was a bit rusty, the container was in good shape. After THAT trip, I felt the container should be kept in the game. I placed it in the general area of its original location - but a little bit higher this time. It still contains all the original swag and the original log book. For those who did the original 2 part cache (unless you went in a straight line between the two parts) this should be a different experience.
.....and a gracious "Thank You" to Justin for finding and returning the cache! Hope to see you out on the trail sometime.
