Geocache Description:

MYSTERY ISLAND

While poring over some old manuscripts in the stacks at a local college library I found what purports to be a map of the lakes and waterways of an unknown island off of the California coast. Each lake is marked with the first letter of its name. Supposedly, the lakes are arranged in such a way that the letters can spell a complete English sentence by making a tour of all the lakes via the connecting waterways, visiting each lake only once starting at the 'T' on the south end of the island.

After a few failed tries, I enlisted professional help, an English professor I know. I asked him, "Is it possible to construct a sentence, in English, using every one of these letters but only using each letter once?". After studying the map thoroughly, he replied emphatically, "There is no possible way".

However after giving it a second look I discovered the solution!

ATTAINING THE CACHE COORDINATES

After arriving at the solution, assign a numeric value to each letter in the third word (A=1, B=2, C=3...). Add those numbers together and subtract the total from the last three numbers of the posted North coordinates.

Then, assign a numeric value to each letter in the fifth word (A=1, B=2, C=3...). Add those numbers together and subtract the total from the last three numbers of the posted West coordinates.
