This cache is part of a revival of the series of caches originally hidden by golfnutz, one of Clarksville’s geocaching pioneers, along the Spadra Creek Nature Trail. This trail is a nice walking/biking/jogging trail that makes a 2.6-mile complete loop that is easiest if walked in a clockwise direction. It is paved on the west side of the creek, but unpaved and fairly rough on the east side.
This cache is located near an old iron bridge that is part of the trail system. The nearby bridge has no name that I know of, but was built by the Vincennes Bridge Co. of Vincennes, Indiana. The bridge remains on the original roadbed of what was once the main road from the early Spadra coal mines into the town of Clarksville. The bridge is now open only to foot traffic.
The cache container is simple and has special cammo. It contains only a logsheet. Please try to replace the cache in the same manner in which you found it so the next cacher will have the same challenge. I also ask that you be careful in logging this find so your comments will not give clues to future cachers.
The closest parking for this cache (see Parking waypoint for coordinates) is accessible by way of a short road on the west side of Hwy 103 directly across from where Taylor Road intersects on the east. It is marked, but you need to watch carefully for it!
Should this cache need attention or if you have any suggestions for improving this cache please send me an email. And remember, your log is my only reward for placing caches. The more you write the better I like it!
This cache is located on city property & placed with permission of the Clarksville City Parks Department.
