Just East of Cle Elum is the well-known Indian John Rest Stop.
Since this is a rest stop; why not make it an interesting cache,
which has been deemed a rest stop themed cache. What do we mean by
that? This cache has things that you might need at a rest stop.
Why a themed cache? Ask
yourself this. How many times have you burned out a headlamp, and
you can't change it because you don't have a screwdriver? Perhaps
never, but it would have been nice to have one if the occasion
presented itself. Have you ever been on the road, and just want to
brush your teeth, but don't want to dig through the luggage? How
about a game to pass the time, while the dog does its dooty? In
short, if you take something, please, if possible, replace it with
something that could be useful at a rest stop.
Note: The cache is on private
property but the land is in a trust owned by 3 siblings in
California, and the landowner I talked to said there should be no
problems. In addition there is also what appears to be an electric
fence running along the border of Indian John Rest Stop. The fence
was probably live at one time, but it's dead now. At least it was
when I checked it. If you look at it closely, it hit's the ground
in so many places, how could it hold any charge. Plus you would
hear a crack, each time the pulse was sent out.
