If you go at the right time you will see model aircraft flying overhead. Gliders, helicopters & planes all fly from this field. But this may cause problems in retrieving the cache.
This is part of a route we enjoy taking as an alternative to driving along the ring road to Long Eaton.
Depending on which way you come from you may go over a bridge that gives views of the A453 and the current work being undertaken to widen it. This single track lane is a bumpy little road so racing along it is not recommended. As it is a single track lane, please be aware of oncoming traffic and the ditches that drop away from the slim grass verges. There are passing places but they are not frequent. Take care also in times of flooding - parts of this lane quickly become impassable by anything except a tractor! Very occasionally the gates are shut, however, you cannot get locked in, just return the way you came.
The cache is big enough to hold a few small swops or maybe a TB. Please replace exactly as found. There are lots of loose bricks here and the cache is hidden in the wall, but DO NOT try to remove any that may affect the wall/bridge. Parking is close by on Warren Lane.
