Eileen’s Laughing Waters Another of the “Off the Beaten Track Series”
Eileen’s Laughing Waters In the deep dark recesses of Wayne’s Ridge trail system some might be surprised how much running water or ponds there are. "Eileen’s Laughing Water" is a small stream wondering through the forest. About 70’ south of the cache is a nice mossy log that makes a great bench to sit on and listen as the water bubbles by. Slow down relax and enjoy. The cache is best found by first locating a dim path along the main middle path. One of my joys of caching is finding ways to get off the main trail and find a location by the ways less traveled. Hence the “Off The Beaten Path Series”. The cache is placed in an area that you will have to do some path finding and a bit of navigation. While I was walking in the Wayne’s Ridge trail area I always wanted to see what was in the middle of the area surrounded by the trail system. As I was walking I found a dim path in the ferns that lead off into the center area. This path grows into a more traveled animal walkway that has been worked on by some caring sole.It curves back on itself wondering past some neat rocks and Old Growth Stumps. Hint The path is on the west side of the trail going up a small slope. At first it’s hard to follow due to the ferns. After that the path is fairly easy to follow. Coordinates N 48 12.895 W 122 29.318 Remember use caution when doing anything off trail. (That is why the difficulty rating is higher)
