Geocache Description:

Quick PnG.

Unlike the Prehistoric law of tram, there will be quite a few more muggles. This is an up and coming little part of Rockport. Some think it is Malvern, but they think wrong ;-)
Rockport was incorperated on January 2, 1851. Rockport served as the county seat of Hot Spring County during the time period from 1846 to 1879. The new county courthouse was dedicated in 1860.
After the Civil War, the Cairo and Fulton  offered to build tracks through the area with a depot in Rockport, but city leaders declined the offer. That is how the town of Malvern was born. The tracks were laid and the depot was a fewe miles south of Rockport. Malvern was the new railroad town. In 1873, a major fire burned several buildings, including the Rockport Courthouse. Around the same time, Garland County was formed. The decision was made to move the Courthouse and county seat to Malvern in 1878. In 1888 the courthouse was built. From the best accounts I can get, it was where the furniture store is (near the Why Not!?!? cache GC2CMBA)
The current courthouse was constructed in 1936.
