This cache has been archived.

-trippy1976-: This cache has been disabled for an extended period. I'm archiving it to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, please do so and contact the original reviewer via their profile link on the first publish log. They will review it under then-current guidelines and assuming it meets the criteria, it will be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

A four-stage multi-cache along the Doty Wildflower Trail of the Baker Sanctuary south of Bellevue.

Over the river* and through the woods

To "Grandmother's House" we go.

My GPS saves the day by pointing the way

Through the white and drifted snow.**

*Ok, ok...so it’s actually only a small stream. ;)

**Hey, this is Michigan after all, who knows when it might snow next! :D

* * *

From the posted coordinates, you’ll see a tree that was planted in someone’s memory. Use the following information to calculate the coordinates to the first stage of your hike:

Year dedicated - 1751 = XXX

Number of letters in the person’s FIRST name = Y
Number of letters in the person’s LAST name multiplied by 2 = ZZ

Coordinates to first micro-cache: N 42° 23.XXX W 84° 58.YZZ

Note: This cache hunt consists of three intermediate stages (two micro-containers, with a small retangular Rubbermaid container [with a disposable camera in it] between them), followed by a rectangular Tupperware® cache container (yep, the real McCoy this time...no wanna-be brand here!) with a green lid. All of the intermediate stage micro containers are in plain view, but you’ll basically need to be right on top of them before you’ll be able to see them. The cache itself is partially visible, but mostly hidden from view. Hint: Due to a lot of clay in this area, sections of the trail tend to get muddy in the Spring (or anytime it rains). Unless it's mid-summer, you'll want to have waterproof shoes when you do this one!

IMPORTANT: The Baker Sanctuary park manager has been kind enough to allow our activity on this property, under the condition that we respect the park rules. So, in addition to the usual caching etiquette, please STAY ON THE TRAIL while seeking this cache. Each stage of the cache is within a few feet of the main trail, so please do not take shortcuts! Staying on the trail will be a much easier and more pleasant hike, and will ensure protection of any endangered plant life in the sanctuary. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
