Our first foray into hiding some caches. This is a circuit just under 5 miles, based on the walk Wolverton Walkabout in “Walks in the Parish 2007” published by Baughurst Parish Council. There are 8 caches along the route. There are a couple of road stretches, particularly part of the route between number 6 and 7, then 7 and 8 – take care with children and dogs. Parking is in the carpark for the Playing Fields at Wolverton.
The walk takes you into Sandford Wood, bearing right as soon as you enter the woods. There has been a great deal of new planting of young oak trees as part of an ancient woodland restoration project.
This cache was originally number 5 in the Andreas Frith Trail (now archived) and resurrected with the kind permission of the The Teddies although the position has moved a bit. You are looking for a large canister containing the usual swaps.
