Park in front of the playground at Wescoat Shelter. Take a walk across the field to the bench between the two catalpa trees. Note: Occasionally the Mississippi River may cut of access to this particular cache. Check www.mostateparks.com for closing notices.
This was the site of Doctor O.J. Miller's house. He was a country doctor who traveled to see his patients and for a short period was the postmaster. His house faced the river and the two catalpa trees were on each side of his front porch. Check www.mostateparks.com for more information about faciliities and hours at Trail of Tears State Park.
