Geocache Description:

This box is bigger than a paperback, and seems to be an "official" part of the landscape.

Braceville is a small town along historic Route 66. Its modern village hall and athletic fields provide plenty of room for residents to meet, and play. Braceville is adjacent to the 1,000-acre Mazonia State Fish and Wildlife Area, one of northern Illinois' premier fishing destinations. The lakes were created in the process of strip mining coal, a process that exposed millions of fossils, some of which you might find in this cache. This cache is one of a series, the Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor, hidden between Elwood and Braceville. We encourage you to visit another town along the Illinois Corridor, which extends from Joliet to Towanda.
