Geocache Description:

You are seeking a short two stage multi cache that begins at a group of three grave markers, two of which are for Civil War Veterans, and the center one for a lady that shares a names with each of the veterans buried beside her.

The markers are for Alfred Lawrence Freeman, a Veteran of the Civil War, who served as a Private in the 7th Alabama Cavalry; for John J. Yerby, who served as a Private in the 15th Mississippi Infantry, and for Mary Freeman Stricklin Yerby.

On the south side of Mary’s grave lies Alfred Freeman, her brother. Alfred’s unit served under Nathan Bedford Forest. The 7th suffered greatly in a night attack at Brentwood, with only 64 men of the original 350 making it back to Corinth.

On the north side of Mary’s grave lines John J. Yerby, her second husband and his second wife. John served as a Private in Company D of the 15th Mississippi Infantry. His company was known as the Wigfall Rifles, the unit formed of men from Webster County, Mississippi. The 15th fought in many battles including Shiloh, Corinth, Vicksburg, Atlanta, Franklin and Nashville.

To locate the final, gather information from the three markers.
