[ITA] Posta sulla riva sinistra del Piave proprio di fronte al Montello, Villa Jacur fu il perno logistico dell’offensiva austroungarica del giugno 1918: la piccola valletta che portava al fiume venne attrezzata con un piccolo ospedale realizzato in una caverna protetta, e nel greto fu steso l’unico ponte che resistette all’artiglieria italiana. Attraverso di esso passò la 13^ divisione austriaca Schutzen (che celebrò il fatto con un apposito distintivo), e dopo la sconfitta si ritirarono tutte le truppe imperiali.
La villa, che oggi ospita una piccola industria, era molto visibile dalle linee italiane e quindi fu oggetto di pesanti cannoneggiamenti. Nel corso di uno di questi, l'11 novembre 1917 cinque bambini vennero uccisi da una bomba.
A ricordo di questo triste evento, sul luogo nel 2002 è stato posizionato un bassorilievo commemorativo.

       

[ENG] Located on the left bank of the Piave in front of the Montello hill, the building named Villa Jacur was central in the logistics of the Austro-Hungarian offensive in June 1918. The narrow little valley leading to the river was equipped with a small hospital built inside a cave, and the only bridge that withstood the Italian artillery fire was the one positioned there. Through this bridge the 13th Austrian Schutzen division passed the river (the fact was celebrated with a special badge), and after the defeat all the Imperial troops withdrew through it.
The villa, which now houses a small industry, was very visible from the Italian lines and was heavily hit by artillery. On November 11, 1917 five Italian children were killed by a bomb coming from the Italian side.
To commemorate this sad event, in 2002 a bas-relief memorial was placed on the site.
