SideTracked - Whitstable Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

devoke: Hiding place has been cleared and is no longer suitable. That was the 2nd hiding place that became unusable and I wasn't able to find yet another suitable spot in what is a very busy area so have reluctantly decided to archive this one.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a magnetic 2" micro tube, STEALTH IS REQUIRED when retrieving & replacing the cache.
It can be busy here when a train has just arrived so please bide your time if necessary.

This is one of a short series of caches I’ve placed along or near the “Crab & Winkle Way”, a cycle/footpath running along the general route of the railway line which ran from Canterbury to Whitstable from 1830 until its closure in 1952.

This station was never part of the Canterbury to Whitstable line, it opened in 1860 after the line from Faversham was opened which meant that Whitstable was at last linked to London by rail.
The line to Herne Bay opened a year later.
