Geocache Description:

Welcome to Geo-Battleship (GB). The GB series consists of 50 individual caches- 49 traditional caches, which make up a 7x7 game board grid, and one final cache listed as a mystery cache. This series works just like the classic board game. The only major difference is that the board is smaller. Instead of about a 1:6 chance of getting a hit, your chances are about 1:3. So here’s how it works.
Within the GB game grid we have hidden each of the ships used in the classic board game. There is a list below of the ships and how many spaces they occupy. Pick any of the 49 caches (titled “A1”-“G7”) to start with. Each cache will have a log to sign. If you have hit a ship the log will contain the word “HIT” along with the name of the ship your shot has struck as well as a piece of information you will need to be able to find the final mystery cache- “Enemy Naval Command.” Be careful of assuming you have all the information you need. You MUST sink all 5 ships by finding all 17 “HIT” caches to find the location of Enemy Naval Command and sign that log. All ship placements will follow normal game rules; they will consist of consecutively placed caches running in a vertical or horizontal line.
Type of ship Size
aircraft carrier 5
battleship 4
submarine 3
destroyer 3
patrol boat 2

The final cache, GC4AJFT Geo-Battleship- Enemy Naval Command is located at the following coordinates: N43° AB.CDE W092° FG.HIJ. There is also a lock on the final stage. Finding the "HIT" caches will give you the combination. The combination is WXYZ."HIT" logs will contain one of the digits for coordinates, the final stage padlock, or other vital and necessary information.

If you’re really an overachieving number grabber you can get all caches for a total of 50 finds. If you just want to play the game, you only need to find as many as it takes to sink all the ships.
