This is a very popular location to bring tour groups to show a remarkable section of the 'Death Railway'. After departing southbound from Tham Krasae railway station, you will find a stretch of tracks that is supported entirely on the cliffs of a mountain. As well, views over the Kwae Noi (River Kwai) can be seen from the right-hand side of the train.
Since trains through this area are so infrequent and travel very slowly, the tracks along the cliff can be walked along for a few hundred metres. This is completely safe and is even encouraged by the board of tourism (Still exercise caution). About 50m from the station is a cave, Tham Krasae (Krasae Cave). Inside you will find a large buddhist statue and an area for people to pray and leave offerings.
