Geocache Description:

The Avoca region is home to an established agricultural and winery industry thanks to its Mediterranean climate, good soil and running streams.

The Avoca River is located to the west of High Street and its shady banks are lined by parkland and walking tracks. Lions Park fronts the Avoca River at the Pyrenees Highway and features a shelter, picnic facilities and an amenities block. Further south is the town's tennis courts, bowls club and golf course.

The town is close to my heart as my parents moved here from Melbourne in the early '70s and were active members of the community and church groups until they passed on within 6 months of each other in 1986.  Although we didn't grow up here, home was always where our parents were, so to visit Avoca was coming home, and for me, still is.

GZ is close to the beginning of an informative Nature Trail which meanders under the Pyrenees Highway Bridge and along the river to the end of the parklands.

As there are amenities here, allow for some muggle activity, but in general this is a quiet unpopulated spot.

Easy parking in this area, even for caravans or RVs.  Please allow a margin of error for GPS settings as very tall trees are directly around you here at GZ.  You are looking for a black micro container, and please bring your own pen.  Replace exactly as found, please Congratulations to Romax for FTF within 1.5hrs of publication!!
