The USS Batfish (SS-310) is a fascinating piece of history, preserved in better condition than most other pieces of World War 2 hardware. The original wardroom china is still on the table! You will have to pay ($4 for adults, $1.50 for kids) to see it but it's well worth it to walk through the entire boat. There is also a submariner's museum with lots of other fascinating stuff.
The boat and museum are open March 15 thru October 15, 12-5 on Sundays, 9-5 other days except Tuesday.
To log this cache, email us with the name, date and price of the newspaper lying on the counter in the wardroom on board.
The Batfish museum is not sponsored by the US Navy (or anyone!) but is run by a few dedicated individuals. To learn more, visit the USS Batfish web page.
