Where the red tree grows Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

gpsbrownp: After 30 years in this house, we have moved, so the cache has been removed and archived.

We didn't think the new owners would appreciate people snooping around.

Geocache Description:

There is a beautiful red Japanese maple at the end of our driveway. We recently installed a new sidewalk and driveway, which meant that it had to be trimmed a bit strangely. Of course, it is not red all year around. In the winter, its limbs are bare. In a residential neighborhood, the cache is accessable from the sidewalk, but not from the driveway or yard.

(If you look around you might see a TB out in the wild.)

The Tamukeyama Japanese Maple

The Tamukeyama Japanese MapleThe Tamukeyama is one amongst the many specimens of the Japanese maple family. The botanical name Acer Palmatum dissectum forma astropurpureum Tamukeyama means that this particular breed is either a threadleaf, laceleaf, cutleaf or split leaf Japanese maple. The term astropurpureum denotes that the leaves of the tree turn purple. Tamukyama is obviously the name of the cultivar.
