Stem and Leaf Plot- a display of data made by using the digits of the values.
A stem and leaf plot is a graph that displays several numbers without rewriting the numbers. This graphing method works like putting the tens place and the ones place together without rewriting the tens place over and over for similar tens place numbers. The tens place column or the stem, displays the common tens place numbers. The ones column or the leaves, show the last digits after each common tens place. The graph is read by reading the tens place and then adding on the ones place numbers across from the tens. Often, when using a stem and leaf plot to record decimals, there will be a key saying 3=.3 or 1=.1. For example, if the stem column had three numbers: 1,2,and 3 and across from the 1 (in the leaf column) were the numbers 1,2,3,4 and these were the same across for all two other numbers. You would read the data in the chart as 11,12,13,14,21,22,23,24,31,32,33,and 34.
The cache is located right off the Wortham Trail. It is easy to spot and is a nano-ish container. This is the second in my series of 'math themed caches' and is a play on words. Please do not destroy the foliage and leave lots of evidence. BYOP and happy caching!
Congratulations chefkimmo, TXSunflower, and WY-TX Brandon for FTF!
