Brief bit of local History: It is hard to find any reference to the Eagle but one reference suggests that it historically known as the Vico Eagle and was probably sculpted by two local brothers John and Tom Cooper who were stone masons who lived in a lodge on Killiney hill.
From the main car park head for the eastern flank of Killiney Hill along the asphalt track, passing through the two pillars carry on around the coast side of the hill. Just before the 5th bench on the left there is a track up to the Eagle's perch. Its a scramble up 100M to to the Eagle's perch where he casts a commanding view over Killiney Bay. On the left he protects the cache beneath a small granite rock....Enjoy the soaring and breathtaking views over Killiney bay.
