Steep, but shorter hike from the river, or flatter, but longer hike from Cool. 
Coordinates should get you pretty close... you'll probably know where to concentrate your search once you get there.

The regular hazards like snakes, poison oak, stickers and star thistle can be found in the area and possibly some larger wildlife as well.
