Keys To Our Heart, The Key To The City is a themed replacement cache for the Original Keys To The City (GC1HQWE) which was taken in the 2011 flood. This cache is located off the nature trails in the Bement-Billings Farmstead in Newark Valley, NY
During the course of one's lifetime, we encounter many keys to various places and things. But not all these keys are the kind that unlock an item like a chest or a door. The one very special place that is unlocked is our hearts. Memories, and experience shared by friends, family and companions of other species like canines have a way of touching our lives in ways that we don't even realize.. This cache is dedicated to those that have done just that, from those that are with us today to those who have passed on either through us growing apart or by nature running her natural course.
When logging your find tell us a story of that special person, or companion that has touched your life...and unlocked your heart as only they can/could do. This cache itself is a key to my heart as I have met a very close and dear friend through the Geocaching adventures I have embarked upon.
Now for the tricky part. This cache is a multi-cache and has been placed in a manner that a cacher I never had a chance to meet would enjoy. It is through his action and love for caching that certain parts of my heart have been allowed to unlock, and I am grateful for that gift above all else.
The cache is not at the listed coordinates. The cooridnates listed are for the foot bridge you will need to cross to get to the real hunt. For a little help I have placed the first set of North and West coordinates at this location. (N42 W076) so you know what the numbers you are looking for will look like at each stage.
To get the Coordinates you will need to get each number for A, B ,C etc. each of these numbers is located at a different sign post with information on the trees and bushes of the areas. The very first number is actually located on the bridge and the next 3 at the start of the trails. If you start at the far right sign and continue your journey on the White trail following the creek you will find this a breeze. The path has been set to get you right close to the cache if you do it in order a.b.c.d.e...etc.

5/27/2013 I noted that the tree description is missing...the post is still there just not the description. If you have done the front area thus far the location is obvious so no adjustment will be made to the number location at this time. If all else the hint below has the coordinates of the tree.
From here I recommend following the white trail keeping the water to your left ... but the order in which you do it is up to you.
E. Japanese Knotweed (Red/Orange/White trail)
F. Red Maple (White Trail)
G. Black Cherry (White trail)
H. Staghorn Sumac (White/Orange trail)
I. Basswood (Orange trail)
J.Quaking Aspen. --- This is on an unmarked trail... if you have followed the direction provided you will end up at a Orange/red trail intersection with the unmarked trail to your left (water to your right) Follow this path to this sign post.
Cache is a ammo canister which is located off the white trail not to far from the last stage.
You may want to bring bug spray with you in the warm season and dress appropriately, there are thorns from wild growth and trees surrounding the area. You will want to watch out for these as you head to the cache location. I highly recommend long pants and coverings for the cache retrieval.
