Park on SW corner of County Roads 162 and 270. Walk approximately west on horseback ride trail. Fairly level terrain at approximately 8000 feet. Not far.
Cache is a pill bottle among some rocks, not visible from the horseback trail but maybe ten feet or more from that trail. Watch for cactus. There is a wide place for parking on the SW corner of the CR 162 and 270 junction. Park and walk toward the mountains from there on the horseback trail. This junction is about four miles from Highway 285 on CR 162. Turn onto CR 162 just south of Nathrop, CO (just across Chalk Creek from the Nathrop post office). CR 162 is the road to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs and St. Elmo. Nathrop is between Buena Vista and Salida, Colorado on Hwy 285. The horseback rides come from the stable you passed on CR 162.
