Placed at a historical site in Lapeer County that we happened on one day while out cacheing. This is part of the great fire of 1881 that covered may of the counties in the thumb. Many lives were lost, many farms and towns were destroyed. When we first came upon this location there was a nice plaque but has now come up missing. Please take a moment and reflect on the lives lost in this disaster.
