Geocache Description:

Menzies Ford is a nice little reserve situated close to Feilding.
It is a great place for a Sunday picnic or for a swim in the river.
Self contained campervans can stay for up to 2 nights and the reserve is designated as a dog exercise area.

On the 17th of April 1897, continuous rain falling in and around Feilding caused a serious flood in the principal rivers. The Oroua River was a raging torrent causing the collapse of the Menzies Ford Bridge. The river reached its highest level since 1881. The Rangitikei, Pohangina and Manawatu Rivers were also in high flood.

This is a good place to practice CITO as this is a popular place for summer parties.
