Meet Met Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Starkiller_: This cache has become higher maintenance over the years, and I am not around here nearly as much as I used to be! Being a non-winter hide with winter soon approaching, I'm giving up this cache. Thanks to all the finders!

Geocache Description:

This is a fun little multi taking you on a short tour of a few historical spots in Metcalfe. The math is easy addition. This will probably take about 25 minutes to complete.

Your first stop will be near the posted coordinates. The Yorks were the among the first settlers in the Osgoode township. Read about their lives. According to this sign, how old was William when he died? How old was Ann? Continue to explore the cemetery. There used to be a church here. What year was this picture taken? How many years old was this church at that time (since its founding)? You have now collected 4 numbers.

Next stop you will visit Osgoode Township’s old Town Hall. The coordinates are approximate here, so just walk around the small building to answer the following questions. There are two nice memorials to local soldiers. When did the citizens construct the first one? And the second one? Continue to explore around the building. What year was it built? Next you will continue to explore until you spot the below symbol. How many capital “O”s are there TOTAL on this little plaque? You have now collected a total of 8 numbers.

Your last stop before the Geocache is at Victoria park. Similarly you will search this side of the park (no need to cross bridge) for information. What year was this park developed? UPDATE- this plaque was stolen. Year= 1988. There is a nice bridge in the park. How many white postheads are there? There is a less aesthetic bridge you can see from Victoria park. While standing in the park, determine what year is engraved on this bridge. You have now collected a total of 11 numbers.

Add all 11 numbers together (DR= 9). Divide your grand total by 1000 to produce a number in XX.XXX format. Add this number to the following dummy coordinates: N45 02.342 W75 16.595. You are looking for a micro container hidden out of sight.

This cache was placed for SNCITO4. Please don’t search for it until April 27, 2013 at 9:15 AM
