Witness the aftermath of a significant tornado. This spot is an example of the powerful force of nature. Beyond this part of the trail, the sheer strength and width of the storm changed the landscape significantly. Fortunately, there is now new growth and new beginnings after the destruction. This geocache was placed in preparation for the Going Caching 2013 Mega-Event at FDR State Park. We hope you enjoy hiking and caching in Georgia's largest State Park. Please sign the log book and rehide the container in the same location as you found it. If you take something from the geocache, leave something of equal or greater value. This geocache was placed with the permission of the Park Manager Park hours are 7am-10pm. A $5 daily park pass is required for each vehicle entering FDR State Park. While visiting any Georgia State Park, please obey all park rules and remain on the marked trails as you make your way to find the geocaches. Pets are welcome but must be on a 6' leash at all times. Please be a good pet owner and clean up after your pet.
